Hurrah! Steve Jobs recently secured the blessings of EMI, and you'll soon be able to buy most of the 5 million — yes, million — songs produced by Electric and Music Industries via iTunes! EMI is the third largest of the "big four" record labels — Universal, Sony BMG, EMI, and Warner — and this move is expected to lure the other three big players into offering DRM-free music in the near future.
God be praised! A major record label has realized that pirates are a minority and that DRM only hurts the honest folk! Read on to see my opinion on DRM and why this is a brilliant move by Apple and EMI. If you don't want to read my rant but would like to chat about this in the forums, head over here . |

Saturday, as I watched Frank Miller's comic-turned-film 300, the thought occurred to me that over the last three decades dozens graphic novels have made their way to the big screen. Most of them haven't been worth a squirrel fart, but a few shining stars exist amidst the fodder! I simply couldn't stand the thought of fine OTC folks missing on out 3 decades of lackluster film perforated by a shining star or two, so I took it upon myself to write this article.
Join me as I take a short trip into the history of comic book films — noting which were great, which were mediocre, and which stank like twice-baked turtle turds. Fear not, movie-goers, as the following rants are totally spoiler-free! |
